For much of her career, Stephanie has been committed to helping teachers, corporate workers, and service providers, who have been faced with the challenges of providing education, business relations, and health care services to individuals with limited English language skills and those from cultures and backgrounds that are different from their own.
In addition to her work as a training consultant, Stephanie also serves as Adjunct Lecturer at The University of Texas at Dallas where she teaches a graduate level course on cultural understanding. The course focuses on the impact of the student's own culture, attitudes, values, and beliefs, which can go a long way in helping them to understand and respect families from diverse backgrounds while utilizing culturally-appropriate practices. Students acquire the listening and observation skills, and the cultural competence to build partnerships with families of diverse cultures and linguistic backgrounds.
